PITTSBURGH, Pa. (PTTP) – The Pittsburgh Panthers football team has had a stellar offseason as they brought in three new powerhouse transfers to the team for the upcoming season. The Panthers acquired running back Derrick Davis Jr. from LSU, safety Donovan McMillon from Florida, and quarterback Phil Jurkovec from Boston College.
All three men are coming back home as they all originally hail from the Pittsburgh area. McMillon attended Peters Township High School, Davis attended Gateway, and Jurkovec attended Pine – Richland High School. These players will be a valuable asset to the Panthers as Jurkovec was the No. 2 ranked player in Pennsylvania out of high school and both Davis and McMillon were 4 star recruits.
Additionally, former Panthers quarterback Kedon Slovis has transferred and moved on to BYU, which leaves an opening for Jurkovic to flourish with the Panthers in the next season. Jurkovec, who has a standing relationship with Pitt Offensive Coordinator Frank Cignetti Jr and only one more year of eligibility left, will most likely be the starting quarterback for the Pittsburgh Panthers for the 2023-2024 season.
