Pittsburgh, PA (PTTP) – Starting this Saturday, you can catch the University of Pittsburgh’s
theatre department’s rendition of the Tony Award-winning musical “Spring Awakening”, which
tackles themes of adolescence, sexuality, and rebellion.

Set against the backdrop of late 19th-century Germany, “Spring Awakening” follows a group of
teenagers navigating the complexities of puberty in a repressive society. Through its poignant
narrative and rock ‘n roll score, the musical sheds light on the struggles young people face as
they grapple with societal expectation and their budding identities.

The cast of Pitt’s production brings depth and authenticity to their roles, immersing audiences in
the raw emotions and turmoil experienced by the characters. From the rebellious Melchior to the
innocent Wendla, each performance shines.

The University of Pittsburgh’s production of “Spring Awakening” runs until April 15th at the
Charity Randall Theatre. Tickets can be purchased online or at the box office.
