CBS Sports

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Steelers fell to the Baltimore Ravens on 11 January 2025
in the AFC Wildcard round of the NFL Playoffs, with a final score of 14-28. This made the
Steelers record against the Ravens 1-2 this season. With this also being the sixth consecutive
season the Steelers have fallen in the first round of the NFL Playoffs, executives and fans of the
team alike wonder, what needs to change?

In a private press conference, Steelers president Art Rooney II showed his continuous support for
head coach Mike Tomlin, despite doubt surrounding Tomlin. He shared in Tomlin’s defense –
“Look how many games Mike has won…we still feel good about him as a leader.” Over the past
eighteen seasons, Tomlin has ended the season with a winning record in fifteen; showing the
Steelers president he is still fit for the job.

Former Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger shared his concerns for the team’s future.
Stating “They’re not just a quarterback away, in [his] opinion.” The team faces the challenge of
what to change in the offseason, with head coach Mike Tomlin looking to the NFL Draft.
