PITTSBURGH (PTTP)- Physical media is becoming popular again, especially vinyl records. Whether caused by unrest with streaming rights, or just those looking for collectables, more people are buying records. Taylor Swift sold almost 3.5 million vinyl records last year alone! Jerry’s Records, located in Squirrel Hill, has been ahead of the trend for decades. The store moved to its current location in 1993. Jerry’s is one of, if not the largest, used record store in the United States.
In celebration of Record Store Day, Jerry’s is holding a $1 sale of secondhand records. Record Store is the third Saturday of every April. It celebrates independently owned record stores, and exclusive RSD records are offered at some locations. As Jerry’s sells only used records, they won’t have these offerings. However, there will be over 20,000 items of many different genres, mostly LP vinyls and CDs.
Christian Grauzer, owner of Jerry’s Records, says: “The stock is constantly changing, so if you don’t find something today, it might be here tomorrow. We deal with such volume that we get stuff in every day.” The Jerry’s $1 record sale occurs April 19th and 20th from 10am-6pm and on April 21st from noon-5pm at 2135 Murray Avenue. Who knows what you’ll find!
