PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) – Nick Eggers (‘23), has a profound passion for behavioral health in which he puts to great use toward his hard working job in the pharmacy industry.
Eggers graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2023 with a Doctorate of Pharmacy, after completing a 6-year special pharmacy program through the university. There, he spent two years completing his undergraduate degree, then the rest of his four years completing his doctorate.
During his time at Pitt, Eggers started a role-playing game club called RollPlayers, where he and other members work together to teach others how to make D&D characters. The club soared to great heights and made Eggers’ time at Pitt much more impactful due to not only the high education he was receiving, but also due to finding his niche of students with similar interests.
Currently, Eggers works at the VA as a Simulation Fellow in a specific fellowship program, and he is the only person in the United States working in this fellowship program. There, he works on healthcare simulations for patients and is able to continue his passion for behavioral health, specifically medications that affect behavioral health.
In the future, Eggers hopes to get a job as a Clinical Pharmacist, and work with pharmacogenomics. Eggers has a passion for helping others through how different genes can affect responses to medication.
