PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) – Piatt Companies has released new renderings of their “Esplanade”
project; a mixed-use community area to be located on the North Shore. The 8+ acre project is set
to contain housing, restaurants, a year-round park, and even a 174-foot Ferris Wheel – all set
along the Ohio River.
In 2021, Piatt’s “Esplanade” received approval from the Urban Redevelopment Authority of
Pittsburgh and they now seek to take the next step in 2024 with a Master Development Plan
Approval. If all goes according to plan, construction could begin as soon as this year, and
Pittsburgh could expect a brand-new tourist destination by 2028.
The development of this area is projected to provide over 7,000 jobs during construction and
support 4,500 jobs upon completion. Piatt is also expecting a $491.2 million boost to the region’s
economy, as well as an annual $75.3 million in tax revenue upon completion. To see the full
timeline of the project, visit https://piatt.com/esplanade.
