Pittsburgh’s Horror Realm Convention Returns for 2024

PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) – While March may not be the time of year you’re thinking about
horror movies, Rich Dalzotto and Horror Realm are celebrating them this weekend. The Horror
Realm Convention is a Pittsburgh-based event highlighting scary movies, books, games, and
more. It features panels of big names within the genre, screenings of films, and several
vendors and events throughout the weekend.

When asked about the start of the convention Dalzotto and his other co-promoters “wanted
something for the fans that other cities got to enjoy.” This is especially true with Pittsburgh’s deep
history with the horror genre with big names such as George Romero, director of “Night of the
Living Dead” and Chilly Billy with his television show “Chiller Theater” hailing from the area.
This idea started back in 2009 and this weekend they’re hosting the 2024 Horror Realm
convention from March 1-3 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel & Suites. The convention features 13
guests, hosting panels, and photo ops. These include Tyler Mane, Danielle Harris, Scout Taylor
Compton, Kristina Klebe from Rob Zombie’s “Halloween” as well as Dee Wallace best
known for her work in “Cujo”, “The Howling”, and “ET the Extra-Terrestrial”.

In picking guests, Horror Realm works to select guests from different eras within the genre.
Dalzotto’s background with horror is rooted in films from the 70s and 80s though
knows it’s important to have guests from the 90s and the modern day.

You cannot host a convention centered around horror without including films. This year’s Horror
Realm will have screenings of both short and feature-length films all three days. It will feature
films from across 15 different countries, including 2 local shorts.
In addition, what Dalzotto considers the backbone of the convention, is the vendors. They’ll be
selling things from movies and memorabilia to apparel and jewelry, and even original art. He
thinks of it as, “anything that you could imagine that you’d see at any vendor show, but
with a little horror spin on it.”
