Pitt adding more electric vehicle chargers on campus

(Pittsburgh, PA, Tuesday Feb. 6, 2024) According to Jonathan Pearson, director of mobility at
Pitt, there is a high demand for more electric vehicle chargers, despite their already being 42
scattered across campus.

Back in Nov, Pitt added eight additional charging stations in Schenley Garage, but it has just
been confirmed that a planned installation for even more charging stations will begin in March 2024.

There has been a massive increase of electric vehicle purchasing, so the demand for more
chargers has increased as well. Pearson stated that adding more chargers around campus will
hopefully bring in the idea of more electric vehicles used by faculty and staff, not just students.

With the quantity of electric vehicles increasing rapidly, Pitt is taking steps in the right direction
by adding more chargers for electric vehicle owners. This attracts the new generation, seeing that
Pitt is trying to be environmentally friendly and adapt to the worlds changes.
