PITTSBURGH, Pa (PTTP) — On March 28th, the Pitt Dance Marathon hosted its annual charity event at the Charles L Cost Center on the University of Pittsburgh’s Campus.

Pitt Dance Marathon is the largest student-run Philanthropy group at the university and focuses on fundraising for UPMC Children’s Hospital. Students and organizations contribute to the event by registering, creating fundraising pages, and collecting donations from family and friends. Throughout the academic year, PDM hosts a variety of events on Pitt’s campus, including a fashion show, mini-carnivals, and an all-day dance marathon at the Cost Center towards the end of the school year.

At the event, organizers connect with patient families, honor them, play games, enjoy entertainment, fundraise, and reveal the final fundraising total. This year’s final total was $435,422, an increase of over $35,000 from last year.
