Possible Pittsburgh NFL Draft can Expect Hundreds of Millions in Economic Revenue

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA (PTTP) – The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially submitted a bid to
host the NFL Draft in either 2026 or 2027. This nationally attended and televised event that
spans over three days will only have positive influences for the Steel City.

The NFL Draft locations are already determined for 2024 and 2025 in Detroit and Green Bay
Wisconsin respectively. Pittsburgh has high hopes to be accepted to host this event as the last
time the city hosted it was in 1948. Additional scouting will be done in the city to determine if
any sites would be feasible or if structures would have to be temporarily built for the long
weekend of festivities. The particular location that is being eyed in the Steel City is in the
Northshore in between Acrisure Stadium and Stage AE.

The only outstanding obstacle for Pittsburgh is the Major League Baseball (MLB) on behalf of
the Pittsburgh Pirates, who would be in season in late April; when the NFL Draft is held.
Therefore Pittsburgh and the Steelers would have to wait until the MLB can confirm if the NFL
Draft in the city is viable.

If the NFL Draft selects Pittsburgh to host in the upcoming years, it is estimated that the city will
generate $120 to $160 million dollars in economic revenue. It is also expected to bring 300,000
to 400,000 people to the city.

The NFL will announce the location for the 2026 draft in May
