Pittsburgh to Establish Brand New EMS Station for the First Time in over 30 Years

PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) –  Last Friday, March 1st, 2024, it was publicly announced that a new EMS site is currently in development. The new EMS station, titled Medic 4,  will be located in the North Side region within Pittsburgh. As reported, this will be the first new EMS station launched in the Steel City itself since 1996, nearly 3 decades.

The current EMS building, which dates back as early as the 1800s, is said to be torn down to make room for this new development.

Along with being modernized, Medic 4 plans to expand its facilities in terms of accessibility to make it a truly 21st-century EMS station. More specifically, implementing standard amenities, such as workout rooms catered towards their medics along with being environmentally sustainable.
