PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) — The University of Pittsburgh alum, Susan Brozek Scott, who studied at Pitt and graduated in 1980, credits her time at the university with helping lay the foundation for her career. Throughout her academic career with hands-on experiences, she developed skills that would later guide her professional journey.
After graduating, Scott took an entrepreneurial leap by starting her own business after working in the news industry for a little over 27 years. Her work centered on creating opportunities that help education and the media. That vision eventually led Scott to her role at Afterschool Buddy, Inc., a multimedia production company dedicated to educating and inspiring young audiences. As president and CEO, she has helped expand the company’s reach by combining entertainment with education. Under her leadership, Afterschool Buddy has focused on developing programming that supports youth development while engaging viewers through creative storytelling. Scott’s work reflects a broader mission to make learning accessible and engaging beyond a classroom.
Her journey from college graduate to business founder highlights the impact of combining education with entrepreneurship. As she continues her work and meets more goals, she remains focused on creating content that informs, inspires, and empowers the next generation.
