PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) — Tamiah Bridgett Alexander is building more than a business in Pittsburgh. She’s cultivating confidence, culture, and community through her work as a natural hairstylist.

A proud University of Pittsburgh alum, graduating in 2002, Bridgett-Alexander’s journey into entrepreneurship wasn’t something that happened right after college. Like many college students, she arrived on campus focused on her studies and figuring out her path, but during her time at Pitt, she began to recognize not only her passion for hair but also its deeper significance, especially within the Black community. What started as styling hair for friends gradually turned into something more meaningful.

Eventually, Bridgett-Alexander decided to fully pursue natural hairstyling, focusing on textured hair care and protective styles. In a world where natural hair has often been misunderstood or undervalued, her work stands as both a service and a statement. She emphasizes healthy hair practices while also creating a welcoming space where clients feel seen and valued.

Her work reflects a broader movement, one that celebrates natural beauty and empowers individuals to embrace their authentic selves. Looking ahead, Alexander hopes to continue inspiring others to wear their natural hair fearlessly.
