PITTSBURGH, PA (PTTP) — An estimated 15,000 people gathered around the City-Council Building on Saturday, marking the third national “No Kings” protest since the second Trump administration took office. Although no incidents have occurred, this marks a crucial development ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Pittsburgh is one of 3,300 locations in the United States that have taken part in this protest, where speakers surrounding the City Council echoed grievances of President Trump’s immigration policies, cuts to Medicaid, the war in Iran, and the increased cost of living. Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis stated that this was an opportunity for voters to flip the US Congress, calling on people to elect Democrats to reverse right-wing infringements.

According to Public Source, the demonstrations were mostly organized by branches of the American Civil Liberties Union, civil rights and social justice organizations, labor unions, local activist groups, and community organizers. Crowds also gathered in smaller demonstrations in the North Shore and Squirrel  Hill, as well as neighboring cities like Erie and Philadelphia.
