Pitt Alumni Marcus Dubreuil’s ‘FlipFolder’ app is taking College Bands by storm

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (PTTP) – Marcus Dubreuil was a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh studying Computer Science and Music when he began his biggest project yet.

As a Trombonist in the Pitt Marching Band, Dubreuil noticed a significant disconnect amongst his band when trying to display band music via their phones. This motivated him to develop the first app of its kind that could connect the entire Pittsburgh Panthers Marching Band musical together.

After a beta year of exclusive use by Pitt, Dubreuil made the app available for college and high school bands everywhere. Ever since its inception, the application has been employed by over seventy colleges across the United States.

On July 8th, 2021, Music Sheet Retail company J.W. Pepper announced its acquisition of the application and Marcus Dubreuil to their team.
